Hard candy is a physiological thriller about a pedophile and a not to innocent 14 year old girl, this film provided most of the inspiration for our teaser as it is a thriller about online predators. It is an independent production directed by David Slade who was also an inspiration to us.
Thirteen is a drama directed by Catherine Hardwicke, also an inspiration to us. The film is about a thirteen year old girl who gets led astray by the wrong crowd. Hardwicke collaborated with 15 year old co star Nikki Reed and so the film is a touch autobiographical with regards to Nikki's life from the ages 12-13. We to inspiration from this film as it also deals with controversial issues such as underage sexual behavior, and drugs.
Trainspotting is a 1996 drama directed by Danny Boyle. The film follows a group of heroine addicts living in Edinburgh in the 80's. This film and director is inspirational to us as it is gritty and deals with taboo issues much like our film, the footage is also simple, with few filter's or complex editing with the emphasis on the story and script rather than editing techniques or special effects.
