This is our first rush of our video, i put the rough rushes of clips together in the sequence of how our story board fits. This is our complete first draft with no editing, sound changes or effects. the simple shots in order they are going to go. this is going to be named: VIDEO ONE.
I then edited our trailer by changing the effects of the lighting for example:
Just like all my other clips, with this clip i wanted to change the contrast and make my images look darker, gloomy and much more scarier as it is supposed to be a thriller. So on my editing suite 'final cut pro' on my computer i first went into effects, i then scrawled down to video filters then onto colour correction and the editing software i am looking for is colour corrector 3-way:
This then brings up a picture like this:
(Ignore the different picture on the right hand side) - Its this three coloured chart that comes up next to the photo i am editing and by moving the contrasts on those three lines underneath the three circles and changing the colour tone on the three circles my images come out changed and looking like this:
This is exactly what i did for all my shots in my videos to create this darker look. much better and different to what i showed you before.
We were not allowed to use music it all had to be copyright free, so all my soundtrack sounds have come from: Freesounds.org.
i had added a voice over of my main character to it and put together and shortened some clips.. This is what i have so far:
I showed this to my media class and they gave us some great positive and negative feed back to making our teaser trailer. The most obvious thing which i knew before was that i hadnt done any soundtrack to the teaser trailer beforehand so the atmosphere wasnt builded up and was pretty bleak. The titles, green screen and other dates most trailers include i did not have in our trailer. So all this is what needs to be changed.
We put together audience questions in an interview format by recording them, and asking them what they thought of our film and their overall opinion. Here are three videos of three different peoples interviews about our teaser trailer:
In the interviews i am just about to show you bellow we asked the questions:
1. What genre do you think this film is?
2. What do you like most about our trailer?
3. What thriller elements did you pick up on?
4. What do you think is missing?
5. Overall do you like our teaser trailer, would you watch this film?
6. Have you got any questions to finish?
Other feedback from viewers we got is that our teaser trailer is far too long and needs to be shortened a lot. The clips also dont build up enough tension but if we arrange around the clips and put a couple towards the end then it would build up so much more tension to our teaser trailer which is exactly the feeling we are trying to create because it is a thriller. Taken this all on board we can now edit our trailer more using all the feedback we were given and try and improve it as much as possible.
